Before we head back in time with the Dinosaurs we need to prepare ourselves of what we might see.


Step 1:

The following power point will give you a brief introduction to the world of Dinosaurs.

You are to use this power point as a traveling guide before you go back in time with the Dinosaurs.

This power point introduced you to the two differnt types of Dinosaurs, herbivores (plant eaters) and carnivores (meat eaters)


Step 2:

Only the basics were given through this power point, it is your job to research these Dinosaurs on your own through the following weblinks.

b. http://www.factmonster.com/ipka/A0770763.html -------> This weblink gives you interesting facts such as what was the tallest dinosaur, and the shortest Dinosaur.


Step 3:

Define these terms in your science notebook, by searching the internet.

a. Diet

b. Mesozoic Era

c. Paleontologist

d. Sedimentary rock
e. Fossils
f. Carnivores
g. Herbivores
h. Prehistoric
i. Extinct


Step 4:


You are to print out this worksheet and pick three dinosaurs that you would think would be best to bring back to your back yard. Keep in mind you are going to have to convince your parents to keep these dinosaurs as pets, so pick the top three that you seem suitable for your home. After you finish picking out your top three dinosaurs, you are to compare them with the rest of your classmates.

This worksheet focus's on the differnt types of dinosaurs, their diet, size, movement, and special features. This is the worksheet that will help you determine which dinosaur you are to adopt in your back yard. Be prepared to give reasoning behind your answer.

Complete the math activity. Be sure to use the information recorded on your Dinosaur Information Chart.

Step 6:

Find your dinosaur on the http://www.coloring.ws/dinosaur3.htm website, print out the coloring page of the dinosaur. Color the dinosaur, and share with your classmates your newly adopted back yard animal.

Step 7:

 Experience through using your web browser the differnt games and various other activities that can help you study and learn about Dinosaurs. You are to play atleast three of the games provided and conclude what you have learned from them: what you liked, and disliked about them in your science notebook.
